Leon Bailey Makes Cork City's Work Harder
Racing Genk won 1-0 by the Irish Cork City in the third qualifying round of the Europa League. The Genk did not convince and were pushed against the wall at times to the back. Leon Bailey could work the only goal against the ropes after a blistering strike from Pozuelo and Karelis' play after half an hour.
Genk took the initiative in the opening stages and could puncture once through Pozuelo. The midfielder headed a cross from Buffalo on goal. After ten minutes Karelis tried his luck with a slider from about 16 meters.
On the half hour still a flash of the home team. Through Pozuelo and Karelis was the pupil of the young Leon Bailey and pushed back the leather under McNulty. A 1-0 flattered in a rough first half.
The 2nd leg will played in Cork City's home ground on August 4th.
